Submitted by linux.dm on 29 July, 2009 - 14:43. tags:Roles and Responsibilities: ESCAP is looking for a Linux System Administrator (with experience with Centos or Red Hat Enterprise Linux) in order to setup Linux servers (x86 32 and 64 bits) in our Datacenter and in the Cloud.
Tasks include:
- setup and configuration of servers
- build redundant, highly available production systems using backups, load balancing and automatic rollout of updates
- deploy monitoring and logging infrastructure
- Document security, disaster recovery, network topology, and maintenance procedures
- Training other members of the IT team
Qualifications:
- Experience with Linux System Administration is required.
- Knowledge and experience with iptables is required.
- Experience in network monitoring and SNMP is required.
Should be able to setup Samba, NFS, ssh, DHCP, SMTP, cron jobs etc efficiently and using config tools.
Experience with Linux integration into a Windows network (Active Directory) a plus
- Experience with Apache httpd and Apache Tomcat a plus
- Experience with Java web applications administration a plus
- Experience with python scripting a plus
- Experience with Xen/VmWare a plus
Good oral english required, as the working language is english.
Start Date: as soon as possible
Compensation: based on experience
